We hold extensive local archive’s which include the following collections Memorial Cards, Family Bibles, Letter Headers, Books, Photographs, Journals and various other ephemeral items.
Our photographic collections contains more than 20,000 images of Ryedale people, rural life, events and landscapes covering the period from c 1900 – 1985. We can provide an image research service and supply exclusive copy images either in printed or digital format.

A charge is made for museum staff to undertake specific pieces of research on your behalf and we are happy to undertake investigations into local family history, town, village and built heritage.
Our search charge is £15.00 per hour, extensive research packages are available on request at negotiable rates.
